Thanks to the global warming phenomenon, the global climate is rapidly changing. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the nation has to brace itself for the coming one week. The states of West Bengal, Odissa, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh will see the fury of nature in the coming 48 hours. These states are about to witness of what could be one of the most devastating rains in recent times.
The IMD also informed that high-speed winds will further wreck these states with little or no mercy. So far, over 124 people died, and 300 have been injured in the above 5 states. In Uttar Pradesh alone, 73 died, and 91 have been injured. Over 2500 transformers have been broken down, while more than 12,000 electric poles fell flat on the ground.
Adding to this, the states of J&K, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, East Rajasthan, Vidharba, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will see heavy rainfall from May 5th to May 8th, informed IDM. In Andhra Pradesh alone, there were more than 1,40,000 thunder strikes killing 39 people, according to official data.
