High Alert at Hyderabad Airport Following Threat of Flight Hijacking:

Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport was placed on high alert in response to an email threat received late Sunday evening, specifically targeting the Hyderabad – Dubai flight. As a precautionary measure, the airport authorities decided to cancel the flight and subjected it to rigorous security checks to ensure the safety of both passengers and the aircraft.

The threat email implicated an individual named Thirupathi Baadineni, carrying passport number R8124604, alleging his association with the ISI. The email warned of his intention to hijack flight AI951, destined for Dubai from Hyderabad.

Concerns were raised regarding possible assistance he might receive from others at the airport, as mentioned by Airport SI Suman Betala to Deccan Chronicle. Following comprehensive security assessments, Thirupathi Baadineni, along with two others named L Vinod Kumar and P Rakesh Kumar, were disembarked from the flight and subsequently handed over for further investigation.
