Huawei smart AR / VR glasses to arrive at IFA 2019

Date:

Huawei is coming up with smart AR/VR glasses soon which will prove to be a major attraction in the technology consumer market. The event of presentation is soon.

One may observe that in March this year, at the time of the press event for the Huawei P30 series, collaboration was rather announced between Huawei and the Korean fashion brand Gentle Monster. Together they both decided to develop their first Huawei smart glasses. They will be stylish AR / VR glasses that will indeed look like normal sunglasses. No camera is integrated either, and it involves a slim frame that can be maintained and privacy to be guaranteed. Huawei smart AR / VR glasses to arrive at IFA 2019 will be a reality.

Huawei AR Glass and VR Glass

On August 14, Huawei Technologies did apply for two trademarks at the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) as well as at the UK IPO (Intellectual Property Office) for the names of Huawei AR Glass and Huawei VR Glass.

Both applications are rather categorized as Class 9, with the description; ‘smartglasses; smartwatches; smartphones; 3D spectacles; sunglasses; eyeglasses’.

The applications have been of course submitted by Forresters from Munich, Germany. Sometime early this month the same company also filed trademark applications for the names Huawei SuperSensing Camera and Cine Lens and both are probably meant for the Mate 30 series, which is due to arrive around October.

Huawei smart AR / VR glasses to arrive at IFA 2019 needs to be keenly observed.

Huawei smart glasses with a speech assistant

Earlier this year, Huawei did already share the first details about its AR glasses under development. The Huawei smart glasses would have a built-in speech assistant. It will be having a built-in microphone and speakers, and one can make phone calls through the smart glasses. The glasses are IP67 certified, thus making them resistant to water and dust.

Added to these features, AR / VR glasses might also be charged wirelessly, via the supplied leather case with USB Type-C connection. The Huawei smart glasses will be having a fairly large 2,200 mAh battery.

Huawei smart AR / VR glasses to arrive at IFA 2019 will draw much attention from the consumers.

An official release date has not yet been decided upon, although there were many dealings in the corridors about a launch around July 2019. However, as of now, Huawei has indeed remained silent; perhaps that the affair with America may have caused some delay. It is expected that Huawei will be presenting its new smart glasses at IFA 2019. This annual consumer electronics fair begin on September 6, 2019, in Berlin, Germany.

Huawei has already gained considerable experience with VR. After all the company has released two virtual reality headsets, which by the way were equipped with Huawei’s chipset. In 2017, the company also indeed placed a video online in which the AR glasses were demonstrated, but at the time it happened to be a fairly large pair of glasses and at the same time the new variant needs to be a lot more discreet.

At the start of this year, Huawei was granted a  patent for Huawei AR glasses, but this model indeed worked in combination with a smartwatch, which a person can attach in the right-hand spectacle leg. This does make the smart glasses extra heavy and also not stable – after all, the smartwatch is attached to one side of the leg. It does look like the smart glasses that Huawei is currently developing will be a lot more comfortable to wear. Huawei smart AR / VR glasses to arrive at IFA 2019 will make their impact.
