Hundi at Srisailam Temple Collects Rs. 5.07 Crore:
After a 34-day hiatus, the hundi at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam received contributions totaling Rs. 5.07 crore. The temple authorities commenced the process of counting and recording these offerings on Thursday.
S. Lavanna, the executive officer of the temple, disclosed that devotees had made cash donations amounting to Rs. 5,07,46,508. Notably, the hundi contained foreign currency notes in addition to Indian rupees, including 839 US dollars, 1,115 UAE dirhams, 100 Australian dollars, 100 Malaysian ringgits, 10 Singapore dollars, and various other international currencies.
In addition to currency, temple officials noted that devotees also contributed valuable metals, with 324.500 grams of gold and 10.050 kilograms of silver being deposited in the hundi.
