Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of AIMIM and Hyderabad’s Member of Parliament, has appealed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to rescue three Indians, including one from Hyderabad, who are reportedly stranded in Russia and coerced to participate in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Owaisi revealed that these individuals were deceived by an agent who promised them jobs as Army Security helpers.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’, Owaisi urged Jaishankar to utilize diplomatic channels to bring these men back home, emphasizing the risk to their lives and the understandable concern of their families.
The plight of these individuals was brought to light when the family of one victim from Hyderabad sought assistance from Owaisi.
Having previously written to Jaishankar and the Indian Embassy in Moscow, Owaisi highlighted the urgency of the situation, noting that the men have not been in contact with their families for 25 days, causing immense worry.
This revelation marks the first instance of Indians reportedly participating in the conflict alongside the Russian military.
