The Telangana cabinet is scheduled to meet today at 3 pm at Pragati Bhavan to discuss the alternate arrangements being made with the ongoing TSRTC strike. With the strike reaching 28 days, the cabinet is expected to make crucial decisions today along with the proposed municipal elections in the state. It is learned that the cabinet may give a nod to hire private services and issuing permits to the private bus operators across 4,000 routes across the state.
The chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday met transport minister P Ajay Kumar and other officials and reviewed the TSRTC strike again. Rao also asked the transport officials to provide complete information to the state cabinet before the meeting. The cabinet is also expected to take a call on municipal elections in the state which are likely to be held in mid of November.
