After enduring relentless heat for days, Hyderabad weather was finally blessed with a refreshing downpour early Saturday, bringing relief to residents. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city is forecasted to experience a mix of cloudy skies, rain, thunderstorms, or dust storms until April 24.
The rain began with thunder and lightning in the wee hours of Saturday, followed by a steady shower. By 9:00 am, significant rainfall was recorded across various areas, with Gachibowli, Chandrayangutta, Khairatabad, Asifnagar, and Nampally among the recipients. The showers brought relief to neighborhoods like Serilingampally, Saroornagar, Charminar, Uppal, Amberpet, Bandlaguda, and Malkajgiri.
Responding promptly, the Disaster Response Force (DRF) cleared 22 water stagnation areas and catch pits citywide. The rainfall also contributed to a drop in temperatures, with the maximum expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
