After a humiliating defeat in the first ODI in Dharmashala, the Indian team gave a befitting reply to Sri Lanka in the 2nd ODI in Mohali. Rohit Sharma’s double century was a nightmare to every Sri Lankan player on the field and every Sri Lanka fan watching the game.

The final decider in the 3-match ODI series took place at the YS Rajasekhar Reddy Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam on Saturday. India won the toss and elected to field first in the day-night decider.

The Indian fast bowlers looked threatening until Upul Tharanga opened up his shoulder. The Sri Lanka opener went on to score a blistering 95 from just 82 balls. The left-hander scored 5 boundaries in an over from Hardik Pandya’s over. After Tharanga was stumped by Dhoni, the Lankan’s once again became the victims of India’s wrist spinners. From 136-1 at 22.1 overs, Sri Lanka slumped to 215 in 44.5 overs.

Though Rohit Sharma (7) got out cheaply, Dhawan (100*) and Shreyas (65) Iyer partnership of 135 runs for the second wicket put India in a strong position. India scored 219/2 runs in just 32.1 overs with Dhawan scoring 100* from 85 balls with 2 sixes and 13 fours. Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten on 26. India won the 3-match series 2-1. This is the 8th successive ODI series win for India.
