India serves as a case study for the implementation of digital public infrastructures (DPIs).
Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, stated that India, India is a case study for nations for its robust innovation ecosystem and digital infrastructure such as the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and Aadhaar, is willing to assist other nations in building and expanding their own digital infrastructure.
Chandrasekhar highlighted the success of UPI in seamlessly transferring subsidies to citizens and urged governments worldwide to make India a case study for implementing Digital Public Infrastructures (DPIs).
During the Global DPI Summit in Pune, the Indian government signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with three countries to share India Stack, the digital solutions implemented at a large scale in India. The concept of the ‘One Future Alliance’ was introduced, aiming to bring together stakeholders to shape the future of DPIs for universal use.
Chandrasekhar stressed the need for governments to recognize the importance of cybersecurity in fostering innovation, trust, and consumer confidence in digital services. He also emphasized that technology should be inclusive and empower even developing nations.
The summit, organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), aims to advance discussions on digital economy policies and will be attended by around 300 senior delegates, including 150 foreign delegates from 46 countries.
