New Delhi, May 24 India on Tuesday reported 1,675 fresh Covid cases, a decline from the 2,022 infections registered the previous day, the Union Health Ministry said.
In the same period, the country also reported 31 Covid fatalities, taking the overall death toll to 5,24,490.
The active caseload stands at 14,841 cases, accounting for 0.03 percent of the country’s total positive cases.
The recovery of 1,635 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,26,00,737. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.75 percent.
While the daily positivity rate has slightly declined to 0.41 percent, the weekly positivity rate stood at 0.49 percent.
Also in the same period, a total of 4,07,626 tests were conducted across the country, increasing the overall to 84.74 crores.
As of Tuesday morning, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 192.52 crores, achieved via 2,42,67,393 sessions.
Over 3.30 crore adolescents have been administered a first dose of Covid-19 jab since the beginning of the vaccination drive for this age bracket.
