India Secures Bronze Medal in Men’s Quadruple Sculls Rowing at Asian Games:
The Indian rowing team, comprised of Ashish Kumar, Bheem Singh, Jaswinder Singh, and Punit Kumar, secured a bronze medal in the men’s four-rowing final at the Asian Games on Monday. The Indian team posted a time of 6:10.81, earning them the bronze medal.
China claimed the gold medal with a time of 6:10.04. This marks India’s fourth medal in rowing. Indian rower Balraj Panwar finished fourth in the men’s single sculls final at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou on Monday. He recorded a time of 7:08.79, narrowly missing out on what could have been India’s fourth rowing medal.
The gold medal was awarded to China’s Liang Zhang (6:57.06), with the silver going to Ryuta Arakawa (6:59.79), and the bronze to Hong Kong’s Chun Hin Chiu (7:00.55). Previously, Indian rowers Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh secured a silver medal in the men’s rowing lightweight double sculls final, finishing just behind China. They posted a time of 6:28:18s. Lekh Ram and Babu Lal Yadav also won India a bronze medal in the Men’s Pair Final, finishing third with a time of 6:50.41s, following Hong Kong and Uzbekistan.
In the Men’s Coxed Eight final, the Indian team of Neeraj, Naresh Kalwaniya, Neetish Kumar, Charanjeet Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar, and Ashish secured a remarkable second place with a time of 05:43.01, claiming the silver medal. India’s performance at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou has resulted in a total of six medals, consisting of three silver and three bronze medals.
