IPL teams have yielded remarkable returns
According to a research study conducted by Treelife, investing in IPL teams has yielded remarkable returns compared to the stock market. The Rajasthan Royals emerge as the top performer, offering 29 times returns. If one had invested Rs 1 lakh in the Rajasthan Royals, it would now be valued at Rs 29.07 lakhs. Following closely behind are the Kolkata Knight Riders with 28 times returns, Chennai Super Kings with 24 times returns, and Mumbai Indians with 22 times returns.
In contrast, when comparing these returns to the stock market, the BSE Sensex index, Reliance Industries, and Wipro have provided 3 times the returns. Infosys has yielded 6 times the returns, while Hindustan Unilever has offered 13 times the returns during the same period. SBI has seen a return of 1.6 times, while Tata Steel has experienced a return of 0.7 times.
Among the IPL teams, the Mumbai Indians hold the highest valuation at Rs 10,673 crore, followed by the Chennai Super Kings with Rs 9,442 crore, Kolkata Knight Riders with Rs 9,031 crore, Royal Challengers Bangalore with Rs 8,415 crore, Delhi Capitals with Rs 8,497 crore, Rajasthan Royals with Rs 8,210 crore, Sunrisers Hyderabad with Rs 7,964 crore, and Kings XI Punjab with Rs 7,594 crore. The two new teams, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans have valuations of Rs 8,825 crore and Rs 6,979 crore, respectively.
