Ravi Teja-starrer Irumudi has landed in a controversy after the Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Federation (APTF) raised objections to certain scenes in the film. The federation has reportedly demanded that the makers remove portions that it believes portray government schools and teachers in a derogatory manner.

APTF State President Chennupati Manjula and General Secretary Basavalingarao reportedly expressed strong reservations over a sequence involving a female teacher. According to the federation, the portrayal could negatively affect the reputation of government teachers and educational institutions.

The organization has also questioned the use of identifiable real-world details in the scene. APTF claims that the name board of Sileru Zilla Parishad High School in Alluri Sitharama Raju district is visible, while the students shown in the sequence are reportedly wearing uniforms associated with Andhra Pradesh government schools.

The federation has argued that connecting a recognizable government school and its teachers with unethical behaviour could create an unfavourable impression among viewers. It has also emphasized that cinema can influence public perception and urged filmmakers to exercise greater caution while portraying teachers and educational institutions.

APTF has called on the Irumudi team to remove the scenes it considers objectionable and issue an apology to the teaching community. The federation has also reportedly warned of statewide protests if its concerns are not addressed.

The controversy comes at a time when Irumudi is enjoying a strong theatrical run. The Shiva Nirvana directorial, starring Ravi Teja in the lead, has reportedly crossed the Rs. 100 crore gross mark worldwide within its opening days.

With the film continuing its box-office journey, attention is now on the makers and how they respond to the allegations raised by the teachers’ federation.
