The Jani Master case is causing quite a stir in the film industry as serious allegations of sexual assault and harassment have surfaced against the renowned choreographer. His former assistant choreographer has accused him of assault during a 2020 work trip to Mumbai and continued harassment afterward.
On Thursday, Cyberabad police apprehended Jani in Goa and presented him before a local court. According to recent updates, a zero FIR was filed at the Raidurg police station, and on September 15, the Narsingi Police re-registered the case under IPC sections 506 and 323. The victim, who was a minor at the time of the alleged assault, has led authorities to also book a POCSO case against Jani Master.
The Jani Master case has escalated, with the Cyberabad Police now securing a transit warrant to transfer Jani from Goa to Hyderabad. Meanwhile, the Telugu Film Chamber held a press conference, announcing non-cooperation with Jani until the investigation concludes. The Telugu Film Dancer’s Union has also been instructed to remove Jani as its president. The case continues to unfold as further developments are awaited.
