Former actress and producer Jeevitha responded to the controversy over the recently announced Nandi Awards. Many directors and producers have expressed their displeasure over the Nandi Awards. ‘Lot of Prejudice has been shown by the Nandi Awards Jury. They have credited the awards to one particular family. Only to gain a mileage in the politics, the TDP government indulged in these cheap tactics,’ said few producers and directors.
Many people also expressed concerns over the ‘postulates’ on which the Nandi Awards are based up. Responding to these comments, the 2015 Nandi Awards Jury Head Jeevitha responded by counter-attacking the critics.
She said, ‘these so-called people from the film industry are defaming the industry itself. Their antics on Live-TV shows look very cheap. We have taken the decision after watching all the films over a three-month period. We did not award a film because it became a hit or collected more money at the box office. Various other parameters and aspects have been taken into consideration while giving the awards.’
She further marked a controversial statement stating, ‘I don’t understand what is the fuss all about. Why are these people over-reacting when Chiranjeevi, Allu Aravind, and Allu Arjun themselves haven’t reacted on this’.
