Director Nag Ashwin recently visited the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam to offer special prayers and took a moment to share an exciting Kalki 2 update with fans. Speaking to the media, he revealed that the script work for the highly anticipated sequel to Kalki 2898 AD is progressing rapidly, and shooting is expected to begin by the end of this year.
Nag Ashwin also confirmed that Kalki 2 will delve deeper into the characters of Karna, played by Prabhas, and Ashwatthama. He hinted that Karna will have more screen time in the sequel, making it a key focus of the storyline.
Kalki 2898 AD, which hit screens in June 2024, featured an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, and became a massive hit with over Rs 1,180 crores in global collections. The sequel is being produced by Ashwini Dutt, with Santhosh Narayanan returning as the music composer.
