Kalki 2898 AD Competes for Top Honors at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2025
After making waves at the box office and earning widespread acclaim, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s epic sci-fi spectacle Kalki 2898 AD is back in the limelight. The Nag Ashwin-directed visual extravaganza has bagged top nominations at the upcoming Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025, one of the most prestigious platforms celebrating Indian cinema on a global stage.
The film, which hit screens in June 2024, earned ₹1050 crore globally and is now vying for the Best Film Award at IFFM 2025. It faces stiff competition from acclaimed titles including Homebound, L2: Empuraan, Maharaj, Meiyazhagan, Stree 2, and Superboys of Malegaon.
The 16th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne will be held from August 14 to 24, 2025. The festival honors excellence in films and OTT content released between June 15, 2024, and June 14, 2025, and is supported by the Victorian Government.
Apart from its stunning visuals and storytelling, Kalki 2898 AD also stands out for its powerhouse cast, which includes Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in iconic roles. Produced by Ashwini Dutt, the film is part of a planned two-part saga, with Part 2 scheduled to go on floors in early 2026.
