National Award-winning director Nag Ashwin’s blockbuster film, Kalki 2898 AD, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan, will be showcased at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival. The 29th edition of the festival kicks off on October 2 and concludes on October 11, with Kalki 2898 AD scheduled for screenings on October 8 and 9.
This sci-fi epic, which previously made waves as the first Indian film to reveal its teaser at San Diego Comic-Con, now continues its international journey at the Busan International Film Festival. Set in the year 2898 AD, the film follows the rise of SUM80, a figure of hope, who threatens the reign of the oppressive ruler Supreme Yaskin, while drawing on the legend of Lord Kalki, the final avatar of Lord Vishnu.
The star-studded film also features Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and cameo appearances from S.S. Rajamouli, Vijay Devarakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and others. Kalki 2898 AD made a massive global box office collection of Rs 1,200 crores, with Rs 330 crores from the Hindi market alone.
