South Indian actress Kalyani Priyadarshan has created history with her latest film Lokah, which has become the first female-led movie from the South to cross the ₹100 crore mark at the box office. Directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan, the film continues to run successfully and is expected to touch the ₹200 crore milestone in the coming weeks.
In Telugu, the movie was released as Kotha Lokah by Naga Vamsi, and the dubbed version is performing strongly. According to trade reports, the film grossed ₹5.5 crores in its first six days across the Telugu states. What’s noteworthy is the impressive weekday hold, proving its appeal beyond the opening weekend rush.
With three new releases hitting the Tollywood box office this weekend, all eyes are on how Kotha Lokah will sustain its momentum. Apart from its engaging content, the strong brand image of producer Dulquer Salmaan has also played a key role in boosting collections for the Telugu version.
