Legendary actor Kamal Haasan, known for several iconic Telugu films, is now ready to captivate audiences with his upcoming pan-India action drama Thug Life, which hits theatres on June 5. During a grand pre-release event held in Vizag, Kamal Haasan shared heartfelt memories and expressed his gratitude to Telugu fans for their unwavering support over the decades.
The event was attended by the film’s lead cast, including Simbu, Trisha, Abhirami, and others, along with Telugu presenter N Sudhakar Reddy. Kamal opened up emotionally, recalling his journey that started in Vizag with Maro Charitra when he was just 21. “This city made me a star overnight,” Kamal said, reminiscing about shooting classics like Sagara Sangamam, Ek Duje Ke Liye, and Swathi Muthyam.
He acknowledged that while he has acted in both good and bad movies, audiences always remember the best he gave them. “Out of the 15 straight Telugu films I did, 13 were box office hits,” he proudly noted. Kamal emphasized that Thug Life is his way of giving back to the fans who supported him for decades. “This is a film made by true artists. I can’t wait for your response on June 5,” he concluded.
Directed by Mani Ratnam, Thug Life boasts a stellar cast, including Ashok Selvan, Sanya Malhotra, and Ali Fazal, with a powerful soundtrack by AR Rahman. The excitement is high, and Telugu fans are ready to welcome their favorite star once again.
