Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa Eyes OTT Premiere on Amazon Prime Video
Vishnu Manchu’s big-budget mythological drama Kannappa may not have shattered box office records, but it has certainly piqued interest when it comes to its digital release. The film, which opened to a mixed response in theatres, is now reportedly gearing up for its OTT debut.
During promotional interviews, Vishnu revealed that he had intentionally delayed selling the streaming rights, opting to wait until after the film’s theatrical run to make a deal based on performance. This bold strategy seems to have paid off.
According to strong industry buzz, Kannappa is slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on July 25, 2025. While official confirmation is still awaited, the date is gaining traction across trade circles. If true, this places Kannappa in the growing trend of Telugu films arriving on OTT within a month of their theatrical release.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa boasts an all-star ensemble including Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal, Mohanlal, Mohan Babu, and Akshay Kumar in pivotal roles. The film is backed by Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures, with music by Stephen Devassy.
