Producer Vijay Kiragandur revealed their intention to make Kantara 2 a more polished and respectable experience for fans. He also confirmed a target release window between the last quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025.
Rishab Shetty is set to reprise both his directing and acting roles for the prequel, along with several cast members from the original film. This pan-Indian project promises a grand scale with a significant budget. Ajaneesh Loknath returns to compose the music, although filming has not yet begun.
