KCR: Telangana Produces 10,000 Doctors Annually:
K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), the Chief Minister of Telangana, emphasized the state’s commitment to producing 10,000 doctors annually through medical education within Telangana. He highlighted Telangana’s development across various sectors such as irrigation, drinking water, agriculture, and industries.
The Chief Minister virtually inaugurated nine medical colleges in Hyderabad, marking a significant milestone in the state’s history by providing medical colleges in each district. He mentioned that in 2014, there were 2,850 medical seats in the state, which has now increased to 8,515 by 2023. The government successfully ensured that 85 percent of medical seats were reserved for Telangana students, a significant achievement following a legal battle.
K Chandrasekhar Rao revealed plans to establish medical colleges in every district, with 26 colleges already in place and eight more set to begin in the next academic year. He emphasized the importance of producing doctors who will contribute to the healthcare system, not only in Telangana but also in the country.
Telangana’s healthcare infrastructure has seen substantial growth, with an increase in hospital beds and oxygen production. The Chief Minister expressed the need for nursing colleges and paramedical courses in every district to meet the demand for healthcare professionals. He highlighted the state’s commitment to healthcare and development across various sectors.
