In a scathing indictment, AAP leader Sanjay Singh condemned the treatment meted out to Delhi’s incarcerated Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, asserting that denying him a face-to-face meeting with his wife was a deplorable act of humiliation. Singh questioned the rationale behind such inhuman behavior, highlighting the glaring disparity in allowing even convicted criminals to meet in person while restricting basic rights for a democratically elected leader.
Singh further criticized the abrupt cancellation of his and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s scheduled meeting with Kejriwal, citing logistical issues and lack of prior notification. He expressed incredulity at the apparent ignorance of the BJP government regarding the presence of the Punjab CM, questioning how such oversight could occur. Additionally, Singh challenged the Tihar Jail authorities and the BJP administration to provide precedents of similar instances where two Chief Ministers were barred from meeting face-to-face, underscoring the need for transparency and accountability in the justice system.
