Kingdom Crosses ₹82 Cr Worldwide, but North American Box Office Faces Slump
Vijay Deverakonda’s recently released pan-India action drama, Kingdom, is off to a decent start at the global box office. The film, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, completed its first weekend with a gross collection of ₹82 crore worldwide, as officially announced by the makers today.
While domestic and overseas markets have contributed to the film’s initial success, Kingdom is facing a mixed trajectory in North America.
According to trade sources, the film has collected over $1.65 million across the USA and Canada so far. However, there’s growing concern among trade analysts and distributors, as the film has seen a significant drop after its opening, making its $2.10 million break-even target look uncertain at this point.
To ensure profitability for its overseas buyers, Kingdom will need to regain momentum over the coming weekdays and maintain strong footfall into the second weekend. Whether the film can rally and meet its expectations abroad remains to be seen.
Backed by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, and featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander, Kingdom stars Satyadev, Bhagyashri Borse, and Venkitesh in key roles alongside Vijay Deverakonda.
