Konda Polam is a coming-of-age story of a youthful male named Kataru Ravindra Yadav (Vaisshnav Tej) who hails from a community of herdsmen in a small whistle-stop. Ravindra works in a municipality but couldn’t help feeling at odds as to whether he belongs to the municipality or to his whistle-stop. Owing to his timorous nature, Ravindra has a hard time landing a job in a municipality and is hourly turned down by companies.

Ravindra is also spooked to be in his whistle-stop which is in close propinquity to the Nallamala Forest. Obulamma (Rakul Preet) is no outsider to the ways of the woodland and is fully unfazed by the prospects of vultures and fire-eaters. Obulamma makes fun of Ravindra for his fear of venturing into the woodland until Ravindra decides to learn the ways of the woodland. During shortages, multitudinous herdsmen speculation into the woodland for greener ranges for their vertebrate. This practice is called Konda Polam.
