The Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) ought to shift its headquarters from Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada, according to a request made by the Andhra Pradesh Water Users’ Federation to the Union Jalshakti ministry.
According to clause 85(2) of the AP Reorganisation Act of 2014, the KRMB headquarters shall be situated in the successor state, according to Federation President A.V.G. Krishna Rao.
“Initially, the government has taken a stand to shift the KRMB headquarters to Vijayawada and the AP chief secretary has issued orders to this effect,” he stated.
After learning that the state government was establishing the KRMB office in Visakhapatnam, Krishna Rao claimed to have made a request to move the office from Hyderabad to Visag. Subsequently, on Thursday, the Federation emailed both the Jalshakti secretary and the Union minister.
