BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticized the Congress government, accusing it of prioritizing political gains over farmers’ welfare by delaying the construction of the cofferdam at the Medigadda barrage of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. He emphasized that the delay in repair works, despite engineer recommendations and L&T’s offer to undertake them, reflected the Congress’s indulgence in petty politics at the expense of farmers’ lives, rather than addressing their needs.
Taking to X on Thursday, Rama Rao highlighted Leader of Opposition K Chandrashekhar Rao’s earlier plea to the State government for the construction of a cofferdam near Medigadda and the urgency for repair works to ensure water accessibility for farmers. He denounced the Congress’s tactics of using the issue for electoral mileage in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, stressing that the party’s actions risked tarnishing Chandrashekhar Rao’s reputation while neglecting the vital interests of farmers.
