KTR Slams PM Modi for Inaccurate Comments on Telangana:
Telangana’s IT minister, KT Rama Rao, has strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent comments about the formation of Telangana. In an open statement, KTR expressed his disappointment with the PM’s remarks, emphasizing that the creation of Telangana was the result of the sacrifices made by the region’s youth.
Rama Rao expressed his deep dismay at Prime Minister @NarendraModi’s comments regarding the formation of Telangana state. He noted that this was not the first time the PM had made disparaging remarks about Telangana’s formation, which, in KTR’s view, demonstrated a disregard for historical facts.
He reminded me that the people of Telangana had tirelessly fought for six decades to achieve statehood, a momentous milestone finally realized on June 2nd, 2014. This journey to statehood was marked by countless sacrifices, particularly by the youth of Telangana. Rama Rao emphasized that to suggest that Telangana did not celebrate its statehood was not only factually incorrect but also conveyed ignorance and arrogance.
KTR criticized Prime Minister Modi for repeatedly hurting the sentiments of the people of Telangana in his attempts to criticize the Congress party. He stressed the importance of political leaders in influential positions approaching sensitive historical matters with empathy and understanding, taking into account the emotions and sacrifices associated with them.
