Nagarjuna on Kuberaa: “Sekhar Kammula Gave Me a Role I Never Imagined Doing”
The buzz around Kuberaa is growing louder as the film gears up for a grand worldwide release on June 20, 2025. The recent audio launch event in Chennai added to the hype, offering fans a glimpse into what promises to be one of Sekhar Kammula’s most ambitious and unconventional projects to date.
At the launch, Nagarjuna Akkineni spoke candidly about his excitement and surprise when he was offered the role.
“Ever since Happy Days, I’ve wanted to work with Sekhar. When he narrated Kuberaa to me, I was stunned — this role is something I never imagined doing.”
Kuberaa brings together two powerhouses — Dhanush and Nagarjuna — sharing screen space for the first time. Nagarjuna expressed his admiration for Dhanush, calling the experience enriching:
“Working with Dhanush was pure joy. He’s incredibly talented, and I’ll always cherish the time we spent on set.”
Adding to the excitement is a gripping soundtrack by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP), known for his hit musical partnerships with Nagarjuna. Set in a dark and socially relevant landscape, Kuberaa is expected to push the envelope for Sekhar Kammula, known for his emotionally grounded storytelling.
Produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd, the film will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, reaching audiences across the globe.
