The biopic of Telugu acting legend Savitri garu, Mahanati has completed 50 days of its theatrical run by today. Fans and movie lovers are marking this occasion as the success of her life even after all these decades.
Young director Nag Ashwin and the lady producers Priyanka and Swapna Dutt dared to portray the real-life history of Savitri garu on Silver screen. Within no time, they did their research and announced the project of Mahanati. Roping in top-notch technicians for all the departments, the makers selected Keerthi Suresh to reprise the role of Savitri in the movie. Released on 9th May, this movie was declared as unanimous hit right from the first day. From multiplexes to the mass centers, the real-life story of Savitri touched the hearts of many movie lovers across the two Telugu States. The result is the stupendous success of this flick which ran for 50 days in these days where a movie will be considered as a hit if it runs for four weeks. After completing 50 days, the movie collected a worldwide gross of 70 crores leaving the producers and distributors in profits. Just from the overseas, it collected 2.5 million dollars and impressed the NRIs.
Critics opine that this flick is a real hit because of the fact that a lady is the lead character of this flick. More than this, 80% of the audience doesn’t belong to Savitri garu’s generation but still, they moved with her biography. Keerthi Suresh, Dulquer Salman, Samantha, Vijay Devarakonda, Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad, Krish, Chai and many other big names lead this movie with utmost dedication.
