Man from Navi Mumbai arrested for cheating 26 people of Rs 57 lakh

A Navi Mumbai police officer said on Thursday that a guy has been taken into custody for allegedly defrauding 26 people out of Rs 57.75 lakh by claiming to provide them employment in Azerbaijan.

According to the official, the 34-year-old accused owns an electrical and hardware business in Rabale and has even sent fictitious appointment letters to job seekers.

The Rabale MIDC police station officer stated, “The job applicants lodged complaints two days ago when they realized he was being evasive on when they could fly out to Azerbaijan.”

More investigation is in progress, the official stated.
