The Telugu box office has a relatively quiet weekend ahead, with two of the films that were expected to release this week, Hanuman Ansh and 418 The Movie, reportedly postponed at the last minute. As a result, Mandaadi has emerged as the prominent theatrical option for Telugu audiences this weekend.
The film enjoyed a strong opening weekend and received an additional boost from the Ganesh Chaturthi holiday on Monday. It subsequently maintained steady occupancy through the weekdays, keeping its momentum intact ahead of its second weekend.
The early OTT arrival of Irumudi has also worked in favour of Mandaadi. Had the former continued its theatrical run, it could have remained another option for moviegoers. With limited competition now available in theatres, Mandaadi gets an opportunity to attract more audiences over the weekend.
Written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, Mandaadi is produced by RS Infotainment. The film features Suhas, Soori and Mahima Nambiar in the lead roles.
With no major Telugu releases competing for screens this weekend, the film will be looking to capitalise on the favourable theatrical landscape and sustain its box-office run.
