The box office is witnessing an interesting trend as Mandaadi and Hanuman Ansh continue to attract audiences despite being at very different stages of their theatrical runs. While Soori and Suhas’ Tamil sports action drama is gaining momentum, the long-running Bollywood sleeper hit is still showing remarkable staying power.
Mandaadi Gets a Major Festival Boost
Mandaadi has been performing steadily since its release and has now witnessed a noticeable jump in ticket sales. The film benefited significantly from the Vinayaka Chavithi holiday on Monday, which gave audiences an additional reason to head to theatres.
On its fourth day, Mandaadi sold more than 221K tickets, emerging as the highest-selling film of the day. Its Monday performance was particularly impressive when compared with other current releases, including Sardar 2, which was comfortably left behind in ticket sales.
Hanuman Ansh Refuses to Slow Down
While Mandaadi dominated the daily sales chart, Hanuman Ansh once again delivered the bigger surprise. The film has been in theatres for nearly six weeks, yet its audience pull remains remarkably strong.
On its 39th day, the Bollywood sleeper hit managed to sell more than 183K tickets in a single day. For a film that has already completed such a long theatrical journey, the number is exceptionally strong and highlights its impressive word-of-mouth and sustained audience interest.
Two Different Runs, Same Strong Result
The performances of the two films are notable for different reasons. Mandaadi is showing the kind of growth expected from a film that is benefiting from positive audience response and a festival holiday.
Hanuman Ansh, meanwhile, is proving that a successful theatrical run can extend far beyond the initial weeks when a film continues to connect with viewers. Its Day 39 ticket sales are a clear indication of its extraordinary staying power.
Other Releases Trail Behind
The remaining films in theatres are also registering ticket sales, but their numbers are considerably below those recorded by Mandaadi and Hanuman Ansh. As a result, neither has managed to generate the same level of attention on the Monday sales chart.
The gap between these two films and the rest of the lineup makes their performances particularly noteworthy.
Weekday Test Begins
Both Mandaadi and Hanuman Ansh have successfully capitalised on the Vinayaka Chavithi holiday. The real test now begins with the return of regular weekdays.
For Mandaadi, the key question is whether its festival-boosted momentum can translate into strong weekday occupancy. For Hanuman Ansh, maintaining even a fraction of its current pace would further strengthen its reputation as one of the year’s most durable theatrical performers.
The coming days will reveal whether both films can maintain their impressive momentum beyond the holiday advantage.
