Ahead of The Raja Saab Teaser, Maruthi Shares Emotional Journey From Banana Stall to Big Screen
With the highly anticipated The Raja Saab teaser just hours away from release, director Maruthi took a moment to reflect on his incredible journey—from humble beginnings to directing a pan-India star like Prabhas.
In a touching social media post, Maruthi shared a childhood memory tied to the Siri Complex theater (formerly Krishna Kishore) in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh—a location deeply personal to him.
“This is the place where my father once ran a small banana stall. I used to write banners for movie releases here, always dreaming big,” Maruthi wrote. “I was one of those kids who hoped to one day see my name on a banner at this very place. Today, there’s a cutout of me beside Prabhas. Life has truly come full circle.”
He continued, expressing heartfelt gratitude to fans and mentors:
“Thank you feels too small. With all dues to clear in our time, I now present our Darling in the element I dreamt of. Need all your blessings. My father would’ve been proud today. Missing you, Nanna.”
The post struck an emotional chord with fans across social media, celebrating Maruthi’s perseverance and passion. It also added a personal touch to the already sky-high expectations around The Raja Saab, which is being positioned as a nostalgic, massy horror-comedy entertainer.
Backed by People Media Factory, The Raja Saab features a stellar cast including Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, and Sanjay Dutt. The music is composed by Thaman, with the film slated for a grand global release on December 5, 2025, in multiple languages.
