Former Union Minister and film actor Chiranjeevi have congratulated AP’s legislation for a new bill on women’s safety, which protects women against heinous crimes in the Andhra Pradesh.
The Government’s decision to introduce the Andhra Pradesh Disha Act – 2019 is commendable. I am hoping that this law will ensure and protect women’s sisters and children who are sexually abused.
As per the law, the old CRPC section is modified by reducing the length of the 4-month period to 21 days and provided special courts to probe the crimes. “I sincerely appreciate the enactment of such a law, ” Chiranjeevi said in a statement. “I am confident that women will be able to live freely with this new act.” Chiranjeevi opined.
