Mercury Dips to 12.7 Degrees Celsius in Hyderabad

It is a recording breaking temperatures to note this year. A minimum temperature of 5.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Ginnedari of Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district in the last 24 hours. In few districts like Sangareddy and Medak, temperatures of around 8.2 degrees Celsius were recorded making this year most chilly as far as Telangana State is concerned.

This year the temperatures definitely have dipped to last year’s records. In the state capital, Hyderabad city, the temperature dipped to 12.7 degrees Celsius. This is by far the lowest recorded temperature so far this year. Officials of the local weather bureau said, that last year during the same month, the lowest recorded temperature was 10.9 degrees Celsius and that too that was recorded towards the end of the month.

The director of Indian Meteorological Department, Mr.Y.K. Reddy said, the temperature will continue to fall and stay low for the next two days due to the effect of the northeastern winds over the state and we all can find a noticeable chill in the air.

It is interesting to note that additional dip of 2 degrees variation in certain parts of Hyderabad such as KBR Park, the University of Hyderabad, Osmania University, Agricultural University, and Some parts of Jubilee Hills. This difference is mainly due to the open spaces and lush greenery.
