Microsoft is planning to support third-party browsers soon
Microsoft has revealed that users will soon have the opportunity to experience Bing, its AI-powered search engine, within third-party web and mobile browsers. The company stated in a recent blog post that this expansion aims to provide users with access to the new AI-enhanced Bing features, including summarized answers and image creation, across a wider range of platforms.
Although users will be able to use AI-powered Bing in their preferred browsers, Microsoft recommends using the Microsoft Edge browser to unlock additional features such as longer conversations and integrated Bing capabilities.
The AI-powered Bing was initially launched in February of the current year. Since its introduction, the service has facilitated over 1 billion chats and the generation of more than 750 million images. Microsoft expressed its excitement for the advancements achieved in the past six months and looked forward to the developments that are planned for the next half-year.
In the previous month, they introduced a “voice chat” feature for Bing Chat on the desktop. This feature enables users to interact with the AI chatbot by clicking on the microphone icon within the Bing Chatbox. The current iteration of the voice chat feature supports five languages, including English, Japanese, French, German, and Mandarin, with the promise of more languages being supported in the future.
