The arrest came after Naveen Kumar, a 19-year-old bike mechanic from Ameerpet, allegedly befriended a 16-year-old girl from Patancheru on social media. He gained her trust and convinced her to meet him, under the pretext of marriage. However, instead of fulfilling his promises, he took advantage of her vulnerability and sexually assaulted her in a secluded area.
The girl’s deteriorating health prompted her admission to Gandhi Hospital, where medical examinations confirmed her pregnancy. Subsequently, authorities intervened, leading to Naveen’s arrest on charges of kidnapping, Minor Girl Rape, and violations of the POCSO Act.
Following legal proceedings, Naveen was remanded into judicial custody. Meanwhile, the victim continues to receive medical care, while law enforcement continues their investigation to ensure justice is served.
