Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has achieved a rare milestone with his latest release, Hridayapoorvam. The family entertainer has joined the ₹50 crore club worldwide, making Mohanlal the first Mollywood actor to deliver three consecutive films crossing the ₹50 crore mark.
Lalettan’s previous hits, E2: Empuraan and Thudarum, each grossed over ₹200 crores, setting high expectations for Hridayapoorvam. While the film is performing strongly at the box office, trade analysts note that it may face challenges reaching the ₹100 crore milestone due to its family-oriented appeal, which lacks the mass-action draw of bigger blockbusters. The post-Onam audience trend may also affect its extended run.
Despite this, Mohanlal’s sheer star power continues to be the driving force behind the film’s success. Hridayapoorvam features Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, and Sangita Madhavan Nair in key roles, with acclaimed director Sathyan Anthikad at the helm. The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the renowned Aashirvad Cinemas banner, known for backing Mohanlal’s hit films like Drishyam.
