After delivering two industry-defining blockbusters with Empuraan and Thudarum—both crossing the ₹200 crore global gross mark—the legendary actor has now added another success to his streak with Hridayapoorvam.
The family drama opened to strong numbers, grossing ₹8+ crore worldwide on its first day. Remarkably, it has secured the position of the third-biggest Malayalam opener of 2025, trailing only behind Mohanlal’s own Empuraan and Thudarum.
In Kerala alone, Hridayapoorvam grossed over ₹3.2 crore, a solid achievement considering it faced stiff competition at the box office. Early reports suggest the film has received favorable responses, though its long-term performance will be closely watched, especially since Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah has opened to glowing reviews and strong word of mouth.
Still, there’s no denying that Mohanlal has single-handedly elevated the Mollywood box office this year, cementing his status as the industry’s most consistent and bankable star.
