Kamal Haasan reaches ‘Indian 2’ sets at 5 a.m., plays a 90-yr-old, reveals Rakul Preet Singh

There are very few actors who can come close to Ulaga Nayagan, and Kamal Haasan when it comes to passion and dedication. The actor who is busy with the filming of ‘Indian 2’ reaches on set at least 5 hours before the role time even at the age of 68. The reason for the same is the longer prep time because of the prosthetics.

Actress Rakul Preet Singh, who is sharing the screen with him in the film, told ‘Free Press Journal’, “I have to tell you like Hindustani, he has prosthetics in this film too. He is playing a 90-year-old character in this film. The prosthetic makeup takes four to five hours. He reaches at 5 a.m. so that he is on the sets by 10 a.m.”

She further mentioned that the veteran actor has been a huge part of Indian cinema and nobody knows the landscape better than him, “Removing the prosthetic makeup takes two hours and it’s so hot in Chennai but he does not care. I think that’s a different generation. I think in 100 years, he has been part of cinema for more than 60 years. More than 75 percent of the time he has existed, he has been part of cinema. Nobody knows cinema better than him”.

Ranveer oozes energy in ‘Current Laga Re’ track from Rohit Shetty’s ‘Cirkus’

The song ‘Current Laga Re’ from the upcoming Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Cirkus’ was launched on Thursday at a multiplex in the Andheri area of Mumbai.

The song, which has the potential to become a superhit and to play at parties during the holiday season, has been composed jointly by Lijo George and DJ Chetas. It features Ranveer’s wife Deepika Padukone in a special appearance donning Tamil ethnic wear. Ranveer as usual is at his energetic best as he can lend a whole different vibe to the song with his moves.

It starts off with a traditional Tamil melody on the lines of ‘Titli’ from the Deepika-starrer 2013 release ‘Chennai Express’. It then progresses into a full-blown dance number with thumping beats arranged over a Tamil folk percussion pattern.

The Tamil influences are visible with the use of words like ‘lungi’ in the lyrics, a prominent nadaswaram section, and of course the Tamil rap lyrics penned by Hari. The song has been crooned by Nakash Aziz who has tracks like ‘Saree Ke Fall Sa’, ‘Radio’, ‘Tukur Tukur’, and several others to his credit. Dhvani Bhanushali, Jonita Gandhi, and Lijo George have also lent their voices to the song.

‘Cirkus’ directed by Rohit Shetty is releasing in cinemas on December 23, 2022.

Tubelight! Akshay Kumar’s first look from ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji’ film gets trolled

Fans of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar may have another reason to rejoice, as his look from his upcoming Marathi movie ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat was unveiled on Tuesday after he started the film shoot in Mumbai, but the first look is getting trolled because of one visible glitch.

The shot which tracks Akshay essaying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj also shows a chandelier in the frame. Now, here’s the catch. The chandelier has light bulbs installed throughout its rim. The reason behind the trolling is that bulbs were invented much after the tenure of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who ruled from 1630 to 1680.

One user commented, “What was the cinematographer even thinking while lighting up that scene.” Another wrote, “The focus puller missed that by light’ years.”

Then there’s one user who wrote, “They’re making a period film and they messed up with the timeline. Some research would be good.”

The good thing is that the makers can take a cue from social media and rectify the mistake in production provided they are open to feedback from the audience for whom they’re making the film.
