Adult dialogues in Mahesh Babu’s ‘SVP’ trailer spark debate

On May 2, the long-awaited trailer of ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’, starring superstar Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh, was released. The trailer received over 25 million views in the first 24 hours, breaking a record.

While the trailer, as a whole ups the ante, an adult dialogue, an innuendo, and a couple of double-meaning dialogues didn’t sit well with the Telugu audience.

Toward the end of the trailer, Mahesh Babu says something that not only sexualizes the context but also means something that doesn’t fit the native Telugu barrier.

“It’s like a bridegroom taking 100 Viagra pills and waiting for the first night, you guys knocked on his door at the right time”, the dialogue means, which could be considered an adult one. Mahesh says this dialogue is to show that he has been desperate to finish off the rowdies, which sexualizes the entire situation.

In another scene, Mahesh’s innuendo during a serious situation has also sparked debate. While some viewers have no complaints about the hero’s dialogues, the majority of others did not expect this from Mahesh, who has always maintained dignity, even in his films.

‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ directed by Parasuram Petla will hit the screens on May 12.

‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ trailer hints at full-on entertainment

The theatrical trailer for superstar Mahesh Babu’s highly anticipated film ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’, directed by Parasuram, is well worth the hype.

The makers, as promised, released the film’s theatrical trailer on Monday, as they also arranged for screenings of the same in multiple theaters in Hyderabad.

“It’s time to pull up the sleeves and ring the action”, director Parasuram Petla wrote, as he shared the theatrical trailer of the Mahesh Babu-starrer.

Going by trailer, the writing and scenes are promising and interesting.

The trailer begins with Mahesh Babu holding a bunch of keys and giving a lecture to a group of people about the value of money.

The story shifts to a foreign location after a series of action blocks, where he meets this beautiful girl, Keerthy Suresh. He begins flirting with her, which she seems to enjoy too.

The action sequence at a fish harbour, followed by the dialogue exchange between him and Samuthirakani, has some impressive action elements.

After some intense action, the trailer ends on a humorous note, with Mahesh Babu explaining why he has such strong feelings for Keerthy, saying, “It’s a boy thing.”

The visual from the mass song, in which Mahesh Babu appears in a vibrant outfit, has us anticipating it with bated breath.

With the release date approaching, the release of the theatrical trailer has only doubled the hype for ‘SVP’.

‘KGF: Chapter 2’ Hindi version crosses Rs 350 cr benchmark, will surpass ‘Dangal’

Shattering all records, the Hindi version of Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2′ has surpassed the lifetime collection of Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ by crossing the Rs 350 crore benchmark as it collected Rs 369.58 crore at the box office.

‘KGF: Chapter 2’ claimed the highest opening day, opening weekend, and opening week for any film in the Hindi belt and became the fastest film to reach the Rs 250 crore benchmark.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: “#KGF2 remains the first choice of moviegoers, despite two new titles taking away a chunk of screens, shows, and footfalls… Should cross #Dangal during #Eid holidays… (Week 3) Fri 4.25 cr, Sat 7.25 cr, Sun 9.27 cr. Total:? 369.58 cr. #India biz. #Hindi.”

Talking to IANS about the money-minting action entertainer ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, trade analyst Karan Taurani of Elara Capital said: “I don’t see a collection of more than Rs 370-380 crores at a lifetime. Now, the film will definitely surpass ‘Dangal’. ‘Dangal’ was somewhere close to Rs 365-370 crores. So, it’s big positive news for the industry because ‘Baahubali 2’ was released somewhere around 4 years back in 2018.”

He added: “In a gap of four years you are seeing the record of ‘Dangal’ being broken once again. That too by a regional film is something which is showcasing the acceptance of regional content by the audience. The audience doesn’t want to shy away from the Hindi dubbed version kind of content.”

Taurani feels this is “good news for the industry”.

“It is good news for the cinema chains because they have more variety of content to showcase and the dependence of one particular genre or one particular type of content is not there.

“So, for them, the supply is more widespread. It will attract more audiences and expand our Indian film industry because the Indian film industry has not grown more than 7-8 percent in the last 10 years…. except for the GST impact where they grew by 15-20 percent because the ticket prices are getting revised and collection numbers are increasing because of that… This kind of surprise will definitely help the film industry grow much higher. That is one big point.”

According to boxofficecollection., ‘Baahubali 2’ starring Prabhas minted Rs 510.99 crore in Hindi while ‘Dangal’ collected Rs 387.38 crore in its lifetime at the box office.

According to Taurani, other Hindi films that touched the over Rs 300 crore benchmark include ‘Bajrangi Bahijaan’, ‘PK’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Sanju’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’ and then there is ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘KGF’.

“I think ‘RRR’ has fallen slightly short.”

The lifetime earnings of ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ are Rs 339.16 crore, ‘PK’ has made Rs 340.80 crore and ‘Sanju’ raked in Rs

342.53 crore.

Taurani also feels that ‘KGF: Chapter 2″ earnings are going to have a “positive impact on the sentiments as well.”

He added: “A lot of producers shy away from making big films because they are unsure that they would do such box-office numbers but what this kind of film does is that producers will now have a clear mindset and there is a potential audience there to tap…”

Mahesh Babu gives it all once he has firm grasp on script, says ‘SVP’ director Parasuram Petla

Parasuram Petla’s directorial ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata,’ starring Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh, is set to hit theatres on May 12.

With only a few days until the release, the creators have started the promotion with back-to-back media interactions with their technical team.

In an interview with the scribes, director Parasuram Petla revealed that he had written the ‘SVP’ story earlier during his ‘Geetha Govindam’ days, but was hesitant to approach the superstar.

“Mahesh Babu made it simple for me by giving me the opportunity to tell the story. He connected with the characters and thus chose this film,” explained Parasuram, adding: “Once Mahesh has a firm grasp on the script, he gives it his all. In his approach, there are no half-measures.”

“If you look at my career graph, you’ll notice that I did start off well, but after ‘Sarocharu’ failed, I took a couple of years off, reflected, and then restarted. It worked wonders for me,” Parasuram said.

Despite the fact that it is one of the most anticipated films, director Parasuram remains confident that ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ will live up to expectations.

Prasuram teased the plot of the Mahesh Babu film, saying, “SVP has a bank backdrop, but the story doesn’t talk about the scandals or anything like that, but has multiple layers of emotions imbibed in the narrative.”

The director spills beans on Mahesh Babu’s role in the movie, as he stated: “Mahesh’s character in ‘SVP’ has a big emotional arc. It is enterprising.”

Parasuram revealed Mahesh’s makeover for ‘SVP,’ saying: “It was my idea because I wanted Mahesh’s appearance to have a ‘wow’ factor. He agreed immediately and became excited about making minor changes to his appearance, such as growing his hair and beginning to work on other minor changes.”

“Mahesh Babu’s attention to detail is superb. This trip with him taught me why people become superstars,” the director explained.

As ‘Acharya’ bombs, Chiranjeevi fans demand introspection

Featuring megastar Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan in the lead roles, Koratala Siva’s directorial ‘Acharya’ hit the screens on April 29 but it turned out to be one of the biggest debacles for the megastar.

With the film ‘Acharya’ proving to be a flop, Chiranjeevi must be wondering how the audience will react to his upcoming movies Bholaa Shankar’ and ‘Godfather.’

Both the movies being the remakes from other languages, (‘Bholaa Shankar is a remake of ‘Vedalam’, a Tamil movie and ‘Godfather’ is an adaptation of ‘Lucifer’ a Malayalam hit movie) the megastar’s fans are not sure, how these might turn out to be.

The audience wants to see new content, not the same old tropes and characters, which Chiranjeevi fails to grasp.

Fans strongly disagree with the megastar’s choices, as they do not want any more flops at this time.

“I wish Chiru starts introspection and drops off unwanted projects”, one of his online fans wrote.

“Making remakes even after witnessing such a big disaster will only put him in deeper failures, which will have zero recovery chances”, another person on Twitter commented.

Chiranjeevi will also be seen in ‘Waltair Veerayya’ which will be directed by Bobby.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s expectations have been dashed by the failure of ‘Acharya.’ So, if he wants to make a good comeback, the ‘Indra’ actor must take extra precautions with his upcoming films.

‘Runway 34’ re-establishes Rakul Preet’s pan-Indian appeal

Known for her nuanced, subtle, and layered performances in multiple languages, actress Rakul Preet Singh is well on her way to becoming the film industry’s first-ever pan-India female superstar.

Back in the day, Sridevi held the title of being the first-ever multi-lingual female superstar. Similarly, Rakul, with her beautiful expressive eyes and on-screen presence is adept at playing varied and diverse roles.

After ruling regional cinema with massive blockbusters such as ‘NTR: Kathanayakudu’, ‘Dev’, ‘NGK’, ‘Manmadhudu 2’, and many more, Rakul Preet forayed into Hindi cinema with ‘Yaariyan’. After making her mark in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada cinema, she quickly followed her Bollywood debut with back-to-back releases, such as ‘Aiyaary’, ‘De De Pyaar De, ‘Sardar Ka Grandson’, ‘Attack’, and now ‘Runway 34’, which is at present a fan favorite because of her versatile and strong performance.

Despite sharing the screen space with Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Runway 34’, Rakul made her own space with a layered and nuanced performance. She took her craft to an entirely new level, especially during the courtroom scenes in the film, against a veteran actor like Amitabh Bachchan, which is a mammoth task for any actor who is worth her salt.

Very few actors are able to express the right emotions using their eyes and Rakul has done it beautifully in the film.

A popular choice among filmmakers, across various genres and languages, Rakul Preet is a rare actress who has lined up seven new releases in three languages.

Movies such as ‘Mission Cinderella with Akshay Kumar, ‘Doctor G’ with Ayushmann Khurrana, ‘Thank God with Ajay Devgn, ‘Ayalaan’ with Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan, a female-centric drama titled ‘Chhatriwali’, along with two more mega movies.

All this proves one point. Rakul is talented, popular, and enjoys a massive fan following across every language audience, making her the next big pan-India female superstar.

Three flops in three months: Can Pooja Hegde recover?

Pooja Hegde, one of the most popular heroines in the south, had a string of hits just a year ago, but now finds herself in the opposite situation.

‘Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava,’ ‘Maharshi,’ ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo,’ and ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’ were all considered hits for actresses Pooja Hegde prior to a string of flops.

Pooja appears to be in a bad spot all of a sudden, with ‘Radhe Shyam’ in March and ‘Beast’ and ‘Acharya’ in April labeled as ‘utter flops.’ Three bad films in less than three months for a star actress indicates an impending downfall that must be addressed as soon as possible.

Pooja Hegde will be seen in a special dance number in Anil Ravipudi’s next film, ‘F3,’ starring Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamannah, Mehreen, and others.

Pooja Hegde has a couple of biggies in her possession, which may help her get out of these sticky situations as well.

After a hat-trick of flops, Mahesh Babu will star in ‘SSMB28,’ directed by Trivikram Srinivas, with one big star Pooja opposite. She will also appear in ‘Bhavadeeyudu Bhagat Singh’ alongside Pawan Kalyan, under Harish Shankar’s direction.
