Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi condoles Bappi Lahiri’s death

Stating that Bappi Lahiri had given him numerous chartbusters that had immensely contributed to his films’ popularity, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi Konidela on Wednesday paid tributes to India’s disco king, Bappi Lahiri, who passed away at the CritiCare hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Taking to Twitter, Chiranjeevi wrote, “Rest in Peace, Bappi da!'” and posted a note in which he had penned his heartfelt condolence message.

The note read, “Deeply anguished at the demise of legendary music director and singer Bappi Lahiri. I had a great association with Bappi da.”

“He gave numerous chartbusters for me which contributed immensely to my films’ popularity. He will always be remembered for his unique style and his great enthusiasm for life which is reflected in his music. My heartfelt condolences to all his near and dear.”

Chiranjeevi wasn’t the only one to express his condolences from the Telugu film industry. One of the first to react to the news of the music director’s demise was actor Allari Naresh.

He said, “The legend who brought disco to us…Deeply saddened to hear of his demise. Rest in beats Bappi Lahiri Ji.”

Shahid Kapoor-starrer ‘Jersey’ to release on April 14

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Jersey’ will now release on April 14.

The film was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on December 31, last year. However, the film was postponed after civil restrictions were re-imposed due to fears over the Omicron variant.

A tweet from the film’s producer Dil Raju Productions read: “#Jersey releasing in cinemas worldwide on April 14th, 2022.”

‘Jersey’ tells the story of a middle-aged cricketer, who gets back into the game for the love of his son. In addition to Shahid, the film, which is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, also stars Mrunal Thakur.

The sports drama is a remake of a 2019 Telugu film of the same name. It stars Nani, Shraddha Srinath, Harish Kalyan, Sanusha, Sathyaraj, Sampath Raj and Viswant Duddumpudi.

‘Arabic Kuthu’ from ‘Beast’ sets Internet on fire; garners 20 million views in less than a day!

‘Arabic Kuthu’, the first single from director Nelson’s eagerly-awaited action entertainer, ‘Beast’, featuring actor Vijay in the lead, has garnered a whopping 20 million views within just a day of being released on YouTube.

Set to tune by Anirudh, who also has sung the peppy number along with Jonita Gandhi, the song has lyrics actor Sivakarthikeyan.

The foot-tapping number seems to be shattering records on the Internet.

In fact, the song garnered, a phenomenal 4.5 lakh views, with over 1.75 lakh people giving it the thumbs-up sign within just seven minutes of being released.

Sun Pictures, which is producing the much-awaited film, took to Twitter to make the announcement. It said, “It’s 20M views in real-time now!”

Director Nelson, while sharing the video link on Monday evening, tweeted, “‘Arabic Kuthu’ here it is … Thank you Sivakartikeyan for the cool and jolly lyrics. Rock star Anirudh-superb stuff.Super cool Pooja Hegde. Dashing Thalapathy Vijay sir.”

‘Bheemla Nayak’ shoot to wrap up soon

Actors Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati-starrer ‘Bheemla Nayak’ are gearing up for its release soon. The makers, who are shooting for some final sequences, are to wrap up the shooting formalities in a couple of days.

It is reported that Pawan Kalyan, who participated in the shooting for a promotional song earlier, will wrap up the schedule by Wednesday.

The makers will apparently break the pumpkin (a ritual done by the movie-makers at the end of the movie’s shooting) after the song picturization. If the reports are to be believed, Pawan Kalyan has expressed his happiness over the output of the movie and has appreciated director Sagar K Chandra for his hard work.

The censor formalities will be wrapped up soon, as suggested by sources.

The makers will announce the exact release date of the action drama in a couple of days. ‘Bheemla Nayak’ producers had previously given two possible release dates, from which one will be chosen.

‘Bheemla Nayak’ is the original remake of the Malayalam movie ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’, as Pawan and Rana will reprise Biju Menon and Prithviraj Sukumaran respectively.

The movie is produced by Naga Vamsi, while Trivikram Srinivas has penned the dialogues and the screenplay.

S Thaman has scored the music for the Sithara Entertainments production.
