Dhoni to be seen in new age graphic novel ‘Atharva – The Origin’

Giving comic lovers and M.S. Dhoni fans a reason to rejoice, Virzu Studio in association with MIDAS Deals, has released the motion poster of its upcoming mega-budget graphic novel ‘Atharva – The Origin’.

Starring none other than Dhoni himself as a superhero and warrior leader, the official motion poster was released on Wednesday by the cricketer on his official Facebook handle.

The motion poster features a rugged-looking Dhoni, giving fans a glimpse into the world of Atharva and also a sneak peek into the first look of the cricketer as a superhero.

In an effort to offer an immersive experience to readers, the creators have worked with a team of artists diligently for several years to create the mystical world of Atharva.

Teleporting the readers to a different universe, this graphic novel, authored by Ramesh Thamilmani, headed by M V M Vel Mohan, and produced by Vincent Adaikalaraj and Ashok Manor, features over 150 lifelike illustrations which present the gripping, racy narrative.

Commenting on the project, the former India captain and Chennai Super Kings skipper said: “I am thrilled to be associated with this project and it is indeed an exciting venture. ‘Atharva – The Origin’ is a captivating graphic novel with an engaging story and immersive artwork. Thamilmani’s attempt to launch India’s first mythological superhero with a contemporary twist will leave every reader wanting for more.”

Thamilmani added that ‘Atharva – The Origin’ was a dream project close to his heart.

Thamilmani said: “We have worked for several years to bring alive a vision, an idea and translate it into a masterpiece as you will see. I am excited and happy to have M.S. Dhoni portraying Atharva, who truly embodies the character.”

He concluded by saying: “Each of the characters and artwork in the novel. including that of M.S. Dhoni’s, has been developed post extensive research and every nuance of the world has been created with great attention to detail.”

Kamal Haasan seeks donations for his political party

Superstar turned politician, Kamal Haasan has announced that he would seek donations from the public for his political party, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM).

The actor-turned-politician in a statement said that he was seeking donations for changing the lives of people. He said that he was not seeking money not only for the well-being of people but also to ensure good livelihood for the next generation.

Kamal Haasan said that donations are being sought from the public for maintaining politics honestly. He said that he was pumping in his earnings after tax into the political party, but that was not enough to challenge the ‘corrupt rats’ in politics.

He said that many in the film industry used to address him as a prophet, but added that he doesn’t believe in prophecies but in convictions and work.

The MNM has already fielded candidates in most of the Corporations and municipalities and is expected to win a few seats in the Urban body polls, but the party has not yet got as many candidates to contest in town Panchayat seats.

The decision of Kamal Haasan to seek donations was earlier not welcomed by the general public and his own party men, but the superstar is pitching in for money from the public to carry forward the political party and its activities.

The teaser of Samantha, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ (KVRK) will be out on February 11.

Director Vignesh Shivan, who took to Twitter to make an announcement regarding the same, also unveiled a brand new poster of Samantha, Nayanthara, and Vijay from their much-hyped movie ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal’.

“Reporting at 2.22 on 2.2.2022 Teaser from 11.2.2022. April release only in theatres. #KaathuVaakulaRenduKaadhal #teaser from 11.2.22,” Shivan wrote.

The new poster features all the three lead actors of the film, Samantha, Vijay, and Nayanthara. As they are lost in each other’s eyes, the trio is seen wearing matching white outfits.

The makers also confirmed the release time of the upcoming movie. The Tamil romantic comedy will have a grand release in April 2022, though the exact release date is yet to be confirmed.

‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ aka KVRK is helmed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studios.

‘Son Of India’ is in the final leg of its making, while the makers are eyeing to wrap up the post-production formalities soon. Being a patriotic film, it is expected that the movie has intense emotions imbibed in it, while the dialogues are billed to be hard-hitting.

Directed by Diamond Ratna Babu, the movie stars Mohan Babu and Pragya Jaiswal in the lead roles.

Interestingly, Mohan Babu’s dear friend Tollywood star Chiranjeevi has lent his voice for the teaser, which was released a few months ago.

Mohan Babu’s son, actor Vishnu Manchu, is bankrolling the venture, while Mohan Babu’s daughter-in-law and Vishnu’s wife Veronica have provided the costumes for Mohan Babu in this movie. While Maestro Illayaraja has composed the music, 24 Frames Factory and Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures are jointly bankrolling the movie.

The theatrical trailer of Siddhu Jonnalagadda-starrer ‘DJ Tillu’ was released on Wednesday. Slated for release in theatres on February 11, the trailer of ‘DJ Tillu’ looks impressive.

Releasing the trailer, the makers of the action-romantic Telugu film wrote, “Here’s the most Massy yet Funky and unlimited Madness! #DJTilluTrailer..An unstoppable roller coaster ride awaits, ONLY in Theatres soon!”

The trailer starts on a funny note, with Siddhu bragging about him working with Telugu actor Allu Arjun as a music composer in his movie.

On the other hand, the trailer also reveals that the entire story is about the leading lady, Radhika (Neha Shetty), and her multiple love tracks.

Eventually, Radhika falls in love with DJ Tillu (Siddhu), who also loves her and finds out about all her love affairs, and is confused as to what to do with her.

Directed by Vimal Krishna, the film also stars Brahmaji, Prince Cecil, and others in key roles. The film’s music is composed by Sricharan Pakala.

Produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments, the movie has a screenplay and dialogues penned by Siddhu Jonnalagadda.

Suriya’s ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’ to release on March 10

Director Pandiraj’s much-awaited action entertainer “Etharkkum Thunindhavan”, featuring actor Suriya in the lead, will hit screens worldwide on March 10.

Breaking the news on his Twitter timeline, Pandiraj tweeted a poster of the film with a hashtag that read ‘ET from March 10’.

The film, which has been produced by Sun Pictures, was originally supposed to release on February 4. However, the team chose to postpone the film’s release after lockdown restrictions were imposed by the Tamil Nadu government to contain the spread of the third wave of the pandemic.

Sun Pictures too confirmed the film’s release on March 10 with a tweet of its own. It said: “‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’ is releasing on March 10th, 2022! See you soon in theatres!'”

The film, which features Priyanka Arul Mohan as its female lead, will also feature Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, M.S. Baskar, and Soori, among others.

The music for the film is by D. Imman and the cinematography is by ace cameraman Rathnavelu.

Sources close to the unit of the film say that like Suriya’s other films in recent times, this film too will espouse a social cause.
