Suneeta Rao: People always remember the first big hit

Singer Suneeta Rao does not mind being called the “Paree Hoon Main” maker, as she says people always remember the first big hit of any artiste.

“People always remember the first big hit of any artiste — no matter what they come up with later on, like ‘Careless whispers’ by George Michael. But the song itself has a very special quality because of the way I was feeling at the time and because it was what people needed to hear at the time,” Suneeta told an interview.

The singer feels the 1990’s hit number “Paree hoon main” has stood its test of time.

“I think it has stood the test of time because of the fact that I made sure the lyrics and melody were created for the sole purpose of making the listener feel good about herself/himself — and I think I succeeded,” she said.

“I asked the lyricist, the Late Rajesh Johri, to feel free to use soothing and sensual words like ‘guroor’ and ‘suroor’, and I said it didn’t matter whether the listeners understood the actual words. It was meant to just feel good,” added the singer, who came out with a track titled “Vaada Karo”, which is streaming on Hungama Artistloud.

Kajal Pisal keen on returning to set post Covid recovery

Actress Kajal Pisal, who was lately seen in the shows “Naagin 5” and “Durga: Mata Ki Chhaya”, is keen to return to the set. The actress was down with Covid in April, which impacted her work schedule and she could not take up new projects.

“I have recovered from Covid-19 completely and am keen to start shooting and take up an interesting new show. I have started giving auditions and hope to join a new show as soon as possible,” says Kajal.

The actress says she is open to working in digital platforms, too. “After being part of the TV screen for a decade now, I wish to make my debut on the digital platform. While recovering from Covid, I got addicted to some shows on OTT. They are practical and one can relate easily. As an artiste I got influenced to do such beautifully scripted real roles,” she points out.

She adds: “Most of the time, on TV we get to play roles that are similar. If you play a positive role, then you are always too ‘bichari’ (the victim) and if you play something grey then it is just too evil. In this regard, OTT as a platform gives you the opportunity to play normal characters. They are neither heavily evil nor too innocent. They look fun and challenge actors too.”

Kajal is known for her roles in television series such as “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain” and “Saath Nibhana Saathiya” among others.

Owing to the universality of the subject, the team has conformed to the idea of presenting the film on a pan-India scale,” Rakshit tells IANS.

He adds: “Good content has a universal language. This has been proven time and again in the last 18 months, as people have been consuming creative content presented from around the world on OTT platforms. Great content always strikes the right chords. We are therefore certain that our film will be well received by the audience across the country and beyond.” says the actor, who was last seen on screen in the Kannada film “Avane Srimannarayana”.

“777 Charlie”, directed by Kiranraj K., explores the bond between humans and animals. Rakshit, who plays the character of Dharma, reflects on the relationship humans have with their dogs.

“Dogs bring happiness and affection into our lives. Since the pandemic, the world has seen a steep rise in the number of adoptions. People have become increasingly open to inviting pet pals into their lives. The story of Dharma and Charlie (his dog) will add to the girth of the profoundness of the relationship that we share with our pets,” he says.

Ravi Bhatia: I play the guitar as a form of mindful escapism

Actor Ravi Bhatia, who is currently seen in the series “Shukla The Tiger”, says lockdown has given him a chance to reconnect with his passion for music. He says music helps him unwind like nothing else.

“I see playing the guitar as a form of mindful escapism, a way to create space between me and my mind. Guitar-playing is beneficial to your overall well-being and mental health in other ways, too, including helping one to develop a greater sense of personal achievement,” the actor tells IANS.

Ravi says with time he couldn’t manage his schedule and had to step away from his passion for music for a while.

“Since childhood, I used to love posing with Guitar. During my teenage years, it became a trend among friends to have jam sessions and play the guitar. That is when I learned to play the guitar,” he recalls.

He adds: “But with professional commitments and a busy schedule I lost my interest. Now, we are mostly free during the lockdown. I am practicing it daily for an hour. I am thoroughly enjoying it.”

Urvashi Rautela: I hope to ensure no one loses life due to oxygen deficit

Actress Urvashi Rautela recently informed on Instagram that she is pitching in with her bit to solve the oxygen crisis during the ongoing Covid pandemic.

The Urvashi Rautela Foundation has donated 47 oxygen concentrators, she said in the social media post.

Opening up on the subject, the actress shared: “India is grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic, people out there are in agony running about to arrange life-saving medications, ICU beds, ventilators and, most crucial, oxygen to save their loved one. Arranging these essentialities is arduous today because the availability of all these things is way less than what the country actually requires to win this battle.”

“With Covid-19 infecting about four lakh people on a daily basis, these concentrators can really help the Indian healthcare system from disintegrating. To my knowledge, concentrators can operate and produce oxygen 24 hours a day continuously and may last up to five years. I and my team hope to ensure that no one loses his or her life due to oxygen deficit,” the actress added.
