World Oceans Day: Adhvik Mahajan talks about plastic waste and marine life protection

Television actor Adhvik Mahajan opened up on his love for the oceans and the need to keep them clean, especially from plastic waste, in order to protect marine animals, on the occasion of World Oceans Day on Tuesday.

“I am someone who loves spending my spare time on beaches and each time I look at the sea, I feel really sad seeing the amount of waste material and plastic disposed of in the ocean. Even when I walk a few steps towards the ocean to dip my feet in the water, there is always either a plastic bag or a bottle that will roll over on my feet,” Adhvik shared.

“If this makes all of us cringe, then imagine how the marine animals would be dealing with it when their entire life is harmed because of a simple plastic straw that wasn’t disposed of well,” he added.

“We have no right to harm these animals because of our lifestyle habits and all it takes is a simple effort to dispose of the waste in the dustbins. Let’s consciously start inculcating this habit now within us and take small steps to keep our ocean clean and marine life safe,” the actor suggested.

Meanwhile, Adhvik who plays Jogi in “Teri Meri Ikk Jindri”, took to Instagram on Tuesday to celebrate the show’s completion of 100 episodes.

“Satnam Sri Waheguru. Yes, we found each other, bonds not born out of the blood but still brothers in arms. Truly Grateful to have the support of my director/brother @prateekshah1 and Creative genius @avhiroopmazzumdar. Teri Meri Ikk Jindari and Jogi would not have been possible without their vision, execution, hard work, and most importantly the simplicity & humbleness with which they inspire everyone around…Congratulations on 100 episodes again everyone,” the actor wrote about the Zee TV soap.

When Sunny Leone forgot her lines

When it comes to packing an action punch and mouthing her lines all at once, Sunny Leone was literally left dangling midway at a shoot.

In an Instagram video clip that she posted on Tuesday, Sunny is seen strapped to cable and attempting a stunt that requires her to fall vertically on a co-actor lying on the ground. The cable-aided drop just stops short of Sunny crashing into the man, at which point Sunny is supposed to say her lines.

In the clip, she is seen suspended in the air rather indecisively, when the director prompts her to say her dialogue. She starts off mouthing her lines, only to forget them midway.

“Aata majhi satakli…” Sunny wrote as the caption with the tags #SunnyLeone, #bts, and #OnSets, though she did not share what project she was shooting for.

Her other upcoming roster includes the psychological thriller “Shero” and the thriller series “Anamika”. Sunny also has a role in the period drama “The Battle Of Bheema Koregaon”.

Vin Diesel-starrer ‘F9’ to screen at Cannes film fest in July

The upcoming Vin Diesel-starrer “F9”, latest release in the “Fast & Furious” franchise, is the Hollywood “blockbuster” that Cannes Film Festival authorities promised to screen at the gala, to be held from July 6 to 17 this year.

Ever since Cannes chief Thierry Fremaux told Variety that the forthcoming 73rd edition of the festival would screen a “planetary blockbuster”, a guessing game started among the worldwide press over which film he meant. Fremaux had teased the media at a June 3 press conference while announcing the Official Selection at the festival this year, saying the blockbuster in question wasn’t “No Time To Die” or “Dune” or “West Side Story”, which have been among the most hyped Hollywood films slated to release later this year.

The premiere of “F9” at Cannes in the first week of July also makes sense because the film is scheduled to release on June 25 in the United States.

“F9” stars Diesel with a powerhouse cast including John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron. The film has already had its international release on May 19 and has grossed over $250 million worldwide so far, reports Variety. At Cannes, the film will have a public screening at the beach for delegates as well as locals and tourists. The cast is not scheduled to travel to the premiere owing to the ongoing pandemic.
