Louise Redknapp felt ‘lonely’, ‘unimportant’ during marriage

London, March 5: Singer Louise Redknapp has revealed in her recently released book “You’ve Got This” that she felt unimportant during the last few months of her marriage with former English football star Jamie Redknapp.

She also writes that she should have told herself the importance of not feeling that way, according to dailymail.co.uk.

“For a long time, I ticked all the boxes of being the ‘picture-perfect’ wife. The truth? For a lot of that time, I actually felt lonely, anxious, and unimportant. Looking back, I wish I’d sat down and really tried to explain how much I was struggling, how unimportant I felt in our lives together, and how depressed this made me feel,” Louise wrote.

Louise and Jamie were married for 20 years and have two children. They parted ways in 2018.

“I wish I’d been honest and said I felt unloved. I never spoke about how things were at home to a single soul,” she further confessed in the book.

Billie Piper has ‘abandonment issues’

Mumbai, March 5: British actress Billie Piper is not sure if she can be healthy around love. Piper has been in a relationship with Tribes frontman Johnny Lloyd since 2016.

The actress began her career when she was just 15 and she says that spending so much time on her own has had an impact on her relationships, including her marriages to Chris Evans and Laurence Fox.

“I think a lot of my issues romantically have come from being on my own a lot when I was very young,” Piper told Red magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

She added it is an extreme desire to feel loved and safe.

“I guess on some level it’s like abandonment issues — even though I wasn’t particularly abandoned; I lead myself largely — but I think that has affected relationships,” said Piper.

She doesn’t think she can ever be “fully practical and healthy” in her ideas about love.

“I think on some level I’m always going to be interested in love in a way that throws logic to the floor. Part of me doesn’t ever just want to see it as this rational thing where I’m making sure I have a date night on a Wednesday; although I think there are merits in doing that,” she said.

Piper added: “But the thought immediately makes me feel a bit heavy-hearted and bored. I don’t know if I can ever really be fully practical and healthy around love.”

The actress feels constantly obsessing about finding happiness is actually unhealthy.

“I think dedicating your life to pursuing happiness is not that helpful and you’re likely to be disappointed a lot. (Happiness) is fleeting but, when it’s happening, I like to be fully conscious of it and sit with it for as long as I can.”

Daniel Kaluuya smoked to get vocal texture right for his Globe-winning role

London, March 5: British actor Daniel Kaluuya has always been vocal about witnessing racism all around, yet he admits never being aware of “awakening a community”. This was something he says he only realised after preparing for his role of Fred Hampton in the upcoming film “Judas And The Black Messiah”.

Kaluuya has already won a Golden Globe as Best Supporting Actor for his role of Hampton and is also garnering an Oscar buzz.

The biographical film tells the story of Hampton, chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party in Chicago of the late 1960s. Hampton was betrayed by FBI informer William O’Neal (Lakeith Stanfield).

“The message in Chairman Fred Hampton’s words and ideas — his ultimate purpose — is to awaken his community. He doesn’t want them just to be free. He wants them to free themselves. I think that’s such a rational and clear way to empower others. I was never exposed to his message before, in school or otherwise,” says Kaluuya.

“As a Black Panther, he would go into all-white areas, Hispanic areas of the community, address what they had in common and stitch these poor areas together. He worked to feed their children, bring free healthcare to their communities. His ability to defuse, his skills as an orator-the thing that made him such an effective leader also brought him to the attention of the local and federal authorities,” says the 32-year-old.

Kaluuya says tried very hard to essay the role and even took up smoking to get into the skin of the character.

“I took up smoking to get a certain texture to my voice. I took singing lessons with an opera singer, to study breath and vocal control, preparing for his theatrical kind of performances, knowing that I’d be doing his speeches maybe ten hours in a day. I sang Gospel, James Brown, songs of the era,” he says.

“I read that Chairman Fred listened to speeches of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X to get auditory ideas. I’d watch footage of him during meals. And from the time I leave for the set, in the car, I’m in the dialect. I had worked three months with a dialect coach. It all contributed to building this important character,” he adds.

“We found out three hours before I went into labor and I know what my relief was what set the thing in motion. So much gratitude these days. We love you so much Jackson!!!” she added.

Last month, Moore had revealed that Jackson was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery a week before Moore welcomed her son with her husband, singer Taylor Goldsmith. She had shared the news of their son’s arrival on Instagram.
