Taapsee Pannu shuts up troll over derogatory remark against her

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu on Monday shut up a troll calling her “sasti maal”. The abusive tweet was later deleted.

It all began with a user requesting actor Sonu Sood for an ambulance equipped with oxygen for Delhi to Gwalior. Taapsee helpfully shared the tweet, writing: “ambulance needed”

However, reacting to the actress’s tweet, a troll asked her to donate her car instead of spreading the word on Twitter. However, the post was derogatory in the language used to address the actress.

“Apni car de de punnu… sab kaam twitter per hi karegi… baketi karwa lo iss sasti maal se,” the user wrote in a tweet, which was deleted later.

Reacting to the tweet, Taapsee wrote: “Can you please shut up! Like just STFU! If this is all u wanna say in these times then hold on until this country gets back to breathing normally and then get back to your sh*t ways until then DONT CROWD MY TIMELINE WITH YOUR NONSENSE and let me do what I am doing!”

Elnaaz Norouzi: In Bollywood every actress has to look pretty for every role

Actress Elnaaz Norouzi, who was recently seen in the film “Hello Charlie” feels while Bollywood is undergoing many changes, the industry has to stop looking at actresses as just glamour quotients in the films.

Asked if Bollywood needs to change the mentality of looking at actresses as just pretty faces, Elnaaz says: “It does need to change in our industry. The same notion is not followed in many other film industries but in Bollywood, every actress needs to look pretty and for every role, they have to wear a lot of makeup. It is changing for the better now and I really glad about it.”

“I don’t just want to be part of films where my only job is to look pretty and dance. I also want to take up parts where I can show my acting caliber, just how I did with ‘Sacred Games,” the Iranian-German actress told.

Elnaaz’s role in “Hello Charlie” was that of Mona, a traditional ‘vamp’ prototype of Hindi films who is trying to help her lover and the film’s villain (played by Jackie Shroff) pull off his vile plan. She triggers off an important plot point.

“The primary reason for doing the film was the fact that my character was the catalyst to the entire story being in motion. I remember when my team and I were discussing, whether or not, I should do ‘Hello Charlie’, the most important point that came up was I would be doing something in the film. In a film where there are so many actors, it is easy to forget a character in the whole narrative. It happens a lot, especially to a woman’s character,” says the actress.

Ruhi Singh: Tough to make space in Bollywood if you’re from a small town

Actress and influencer Ruhi Singh say it is tough to make a mark in Bollywood if you don’t have the right backing. The actress, who has worked in films as “Calendar Girls” and “Ishq Forever”, as well as web series such as “Spotlight”, “Bang Baang” and “Chakravyuh”, says an outsider has to be mentally strong to make it in the industry.

“It’s very tough to make space for yourself in Bollywood, especially if you are someone who’s come from a small town like me, and are standing up on your own terms and are a self-made person or a one-woman army. That’s what I call myself,” Ruhi, who hails from Jaipur, told IANS.

“I believe in keeping it simple, I give it my best shot during auditions and hope that someone sees the spark in me and believes in me. It’s easy to say that it’s tough out there and it is, it can dampen your spirit but that’s where mental strength comes into play. I know I am not a quitter and I just continue to work hard on every aspect. I think if you have the talent and skillsets, the opportunities will come your way,” she says.

Talking about her upcoming project web series “Runaway Lugai”, she says: “I am not allowed to talk about ‘Runaway Lugai’ as of now, but I can say that it’s a very entertaining project and I have enjoyed myself thoroughly. It’s a character I have never portrayed before and I can’t wait to see it out in the public domain,” she says.

Rashmi Agdekar requests all to look after strays during lockdown

Actress Rashmi Agdekar feels strongly about animal welfare. She believes although Covid-19 doesn’t affect stray animals, lockdown is bound to have its impact.

“Many shopkeepers and stores which feed the animals around them may not be able to do so because of lockdown. If you are aware of such animals in the neighborhood, please sort out permission to feed them, or leave out food and water outside for them. We need to understand that while the pandemic doesn’t affect strays, lockdown does. Besides, animal feeders are allowed as part of essential services,” she said.

“In case you cannot bring a pet at home, then the least you can do is feed the strays in your vicinity! Stop banning animals from entering your residential compounds, instead of nurturing them. One of the ways we could stop cruelty against stray animals is by talking more about it, ” says the actress, who has been part of the film “Andhadhun” and the web series “Dev DD 2”.

Rashmi adds: “Awareness is the key. Let’s begin by teaching our kids to be kind towards them. The way an animal loves you back is unconditional, they can teach us so many things, one being compassion. Please don’t shop, instead adopt!”
