Katrin Kaif has revealed her secret of the parathas in her diet, while her mother-in-law used to tell her always to have that food item but she has to refuse a diet.

On ‘The Kapil Sharma Show, when the host asked Katrina if her diet has changed after marriage especially being part of a Punjabi family. The ‘Namastey London’ actress told him that she was often asked to have a heavy diet but she refused because of her fitness regime.

She said: “Initially Mummy ji used to urge me a lot to have parathas and since I’m on a diet I couldn’t have it so I used to just have a bite. And, now that we have almost completed a year of our marriage, Mummy Ji now prepares sweet potatoes for me.”

Katrina is coming along with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan to promote her film “Phone Bhoot” and she told about her shooting experience and revealed some interesting anecdotes. She also talked about her life post her marriage.

For actress Sunny Leone, it was an uphill task to work in the Vishnu Manchu-starrer film ‘Ginna’. In addition to the language being unfamiliar to her, she essays a deaf and mute woman in the film. The actress put in a lot of hard work to lend authenticity to her part in the film and not make it look like a caricaturist depiction of disabilities on screen.

The empathic portrayal of the character was of prime importance for Sunny. She trained in sign language for a few weeks with an acting coach, before the film’s shoot began.

Revealing her process, Sunny said, “My coach and I sat and storyboarded the character’s graph. Along with the director and writer, we tried to understand the backstory. Then the real challenge of bringing a true-to-reality portrayal on screen. My coach helped me by providing several reading materials and videos for my understanding.”

It not only helped her crack the psyche of the character better but also gave her a peek into the minds of people who don’t have the luxury of voice and words.”

She further mentioned, “Rehearsal was key. So before every important scene, I rehearsed for an hour. Expressing through the eyes was a key facet of nailing the character. I also learned sign language which was important to flesh out the character further. I would also like to thank Venkat Kona without which the same would not be possible”.

On the work front, the actress just completed the shoot of ‘Splitsvilla’ in Goa last week.

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who has impressed everyone with her killer moves in the song ‘Oo Antava’, will be essaying the titular character of a surrogate mother in her upcoming film ‘Yashoda’.

The trailer of the film was unveiled on Thursday by some of the biggest names in the Indian entertainment industry such as Varun Dhawan in Hindi, Vijay Deverakonda in Telugu, Dulquer Salmaan in Malayalam, Suriya in Tamil, and Rakshit Shetty in Kannada.

The trailer promises a sleek thriller with Samantha doing complete justice to her part as she fights, chases, and never backs down in her fight in the film as the narrative unfolds the secrets of a serious medical crime with courage.

Apart from the action sequences of Samantha, the little romance between Unni Mukundan and Sam shows there’s a lovable track between them while Varalaxmi looks badass with negative shades on a lighter note.

Commenting on the occasion of the trailer launch, producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad said in a statement, “I thank Vijay Deverakonda, Suriya, Rakshit Shetty, Dulquer Salman, and Varun Dhawan for launching the Trailer. It received a phenomenal response in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. It went instantly viral and trending on YouTube already.”

Shot in Tamil and Telugu, Yashoda will be dubbed and released in additional three languages – Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, making the widest pan-India release for a female-led film, also marking Samantha’s first Hindi theatrical release.

The producer further mentioned, “Everyone’s heaping praise on Samantha’s performance, Manisharma’s BGM, and the concept. Although we revealed the core plot of the story, the audience will be thrilled with the scenes and sequences in theatres. Leaving no stone unturned in the making and promotions under Sridevi Movies, we’re releasing this seat-edge thriller worldwide in 5 languages on November 11”.

In addition, the film also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Unni Mukundan, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Shatru, Madhurima, Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada and Priyanka Sharmawith a strong technical crew onboard.

Directed by Hari and Harish, ‘Yashoda’ has been produced under the banner of Sridevi Movies. The film is set to release theatrically on November 11, 2022.

The unit of director Rishab Shetty’s Kannada film ‘Kantara’ is on cloud nine after Tamil superstar Rajinikanth called up the core team to congratulate them for having made a movie that he described as a ‘masterpiece’.

Responding to Rajinikanth’s tweet, director and actor Rishab Shetty said, “Dear Rajinikanth sir! You are the biggest Superstar in India and I have been your fan since childhood. Your appreciation is my dream come true. You inspire me to do more local stories and inspire our audiences everywhere. Thank you, sir.”

The film’s producer Vijay Kiragandur also responded to Rajinikanth’s tweet, saying: “This is precious. We have been blessed by Rajinikanth Sir. God has been kind. And we feel privileged that we could bring ‘Kantara’ to light. This has left an indelible mark surely and I’ll treasure this moment.”

Kerala band accuses ‘Kantara’ of plagiarising its song for ‘Varaha Roopam’

The Kannada film ‘Kantara’ continues to be in the news. After raking in impressive collections, the film is now gaining traction on the Internet because of an alleged claim of plagiarism over one of its tracks titled ‘Varaha Roopam’.

A Kerala-based band ‘Thaikkudam Bridge’ has accused the makers of the Kannada film of ripping off their song ‘Navarasam’. ‘Varaha Roopam’ features the same melody as that of ‘Navarasam’ and follows the same chord progression on guitars only difference being a prominent Nadaswaram in the former while ‘Navarasam’ has the same spectrum of notes played on Carnatic violin.

The band expressed their displeasure on social media and released a statement with regard to the same. They also mentioned they’re mulling over taking legal action against the team of ‘Kantara’ and its producers, Hombale Films to settle the dispute and infringement of their intellectual property.

Sharing the album cover of their song next to the poster of ‘Varaha Roopam’, they wrote in the caption, “From our and our partner’s standpoint, we would like our listeners to know that Thaikkudam Bridge is in no way or form affiliated with ‘Kantara’. The unavoidable similarities between our IP ‘Navarasam’ and ‘Varaha Roopam; in terms of audio is, therefore, a blatant infringement of copyright laws.”

They further mentioned, “From our standpoint, the line between ‘Inspired’ and ‘Plagiarized’ is distinct and indisputable and therefore we will be seeking legal action against the creative team responsible for this. There has been no acknowledgment of our rights over the content and the song is propagated as an Original piece of work by the movie’s creative team”.

In the film, ‘Varaha Roopam’ comes at an important plot point during the dance performance of Buta Kola when the Guliga God possesses the body of one of the characters.

‘Kantara’ hits the KGF2 at the Box Office to reach the second highest Kannada movie.

‘Kantara’ has become the second-highest collection at the box office with a worldwide reach of Rs 188 crore after the ‘KGF’ movie which is acted with hero Yash in a Kannada film.

Actor Rishab Shetty’s latest film ‘Kantara’ has been released recently, it reached the highest collections after the release of the movie in India, other countries, and worldwide. In India, at the box office Rs 170 crore was collected and Rs 18 crore was reached out of the country.

Because of the occasion of the Diwali weekend, ‘Kantara’ has reached the best collections at the box office, in India almost 170 crores crossed and it will beat the Rs 200 crore line before the end of the 4-5 weeks, according to the analysis of movie makers.

‘Kantara’ got Rs 111 crore estimate still in Karnataka with Rs 14 crore the fourth weekend, it double of the fourth week of ‘KGF2’.

Extortion case: Jacqueline deleted evidence from phone, says ED

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has claimed that Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez had deleted evidence from her cell phone, and also tried to leave the country.

The ED made this submission while opposing the actor’s bail plea in connection with a money laundering case pertaining to Rs 200 crore extortion matter involving multimillionaire conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, an official said on Saturday.

The IANS is in possession of ED documents that confirm that she had deleted data from her cell phone.

“She admitted deleting crucial evidence on her phone and further had told others to delete the evidence which amounts to tampering of evidence. She also tried to flee abroad,” the ED has claimed.

The ED said that during the investigation it emerged that Jacqueline enjoyed the proceeds of crime which the main accused (Sukesh Chandrashekhar and Leena Maria Paul) obtained by the route of extortion from Aditi (wife of Shivinder Singh).

Jacqueline had knowledge of the criminal antecedents of the main accused — Sukash and Leena.

“She not only used and enjoyed the proceeds of crime herself but also shared that with her family members staying abroad while knowing very well that the money and gifts showered by Chandrasekar were nothing but proceeds of crime not earned by him through any genuine source. An amount of Rs 7,12,24,767 had been identified till now as proceed of crime and the same was attached,” the ED said.

The ED said that Jacqueline never cooperated with the investigation team, and only when confronted with evidence and statements, she had made the disclosure.

Initially, Jacqueline denied that Chandrashekhar had purchased two cars for her parents but on December 12, 2021, she admitted it. She also stated that her sister had received $1,72,913 in her account.

Fernandez was granted interim bail. She has not been given regular bail. The court has extended her interim bail till the next date of hearing.
